Communication Game Plan

🏈 I’m about to say something controversial…
I’m not a football fan. I’m not even a sports fan. But NFL season is here.

Even if you’re like me and couldn’t explain what a first down means, there are undeniable lessons we can all learn from football – especially when it comes to communication.

Here are a few “plays” worth adding to your communication game plan:

💬 Call Clear Plays

Just like a good play is understood to every player on the field, communication needs clarity and precision so teams know their next move.

🤝 Huddles Matter
Teams pause between plays to regroup. Regular check-ins with your team help keep everyone aligned, too.

👀 Read the Field
Strong communicators “read the field” by understanding their audience, anticipating obstacles, and adjusting their strategy when needed.

🎉 Celebrate Touchdowns
Touchdowns are a big deal and so are milestones. Recognizing wins builds momentum and morale.

You don’t have to know or love football to appreciate its lessons: clarity, connection, and celebration are always in season.

Final thought: more research went into this post than any non-sports fan should reasonably do. 🤷🏻‍♀️
