get to know me

Hi, I’m Carissa

Hi, I’m Carissa — a communications and content strategist who is passionate about the intersection of corporate culture, mental health, and human connection. Over the course of my career with global brands like Starbucks and Disney, I’ve learned that clear, thoughtful communication isn’t just about delivering messages — it’s about supporting people, creating healthier work environments, and building trust.

I’m deeply interested in psychology and mental well-being, especially how they show up in the workplace. From navigating change to finding balance in high-pressure environments, I believe mental health and corporate success go hand-in-hand. I love exploring ways teams can thrive while staying grounded, authentic, and connected.

On a personal note, I’m an INFJ and passionate about frameworks like Myers-Briggs that shed light on how we relate to one another. I’m also a proud francophile (currently learning French!), a self-help book enthusiast, and someone who enjoys a good true crime series or a long workout session to recharge.

This site is where all of that comes together — sharing insights, stories, and reflections on communication, corporate life, and mental health, with the hope of helping others better understand themselves, their work, and the world around them.

About my blog

This blog is a space where I bring together my passions for communication, psychology, and culture to explore what it means to understand ourselves, and each other, a little better. Here, you’ll find reflections, insights, and practical takeaways designed to help you thrive in the workplace, nurture your mental health, and discover lessons in the stories we watch and tell. The blog is organized into four main sections:

  • Mind & Mental Health – Posts on emotional well-being, self care, psychology, and personal growth. Think of this as a place for insight and encouragement to support balance in both work and life.
  • Corporate Life – Reflections on the modern workplace: navigating culture, leadership, career development, and the challenges and triumphs of corporate environments.
  • Communication – Practical lessons and strategies for clearer, more intentional connection. Whether it’s presentations, team messaging, or everyday conversations, this section focuses on the art (and impact) of how we communicate.
  • Reel Talk – A lighter, creative space where I unpack communication and life lessons from TV shows and movies. From sitcoms to dramas, stories have a way of teaching us about connection, culture, and ourselves.

Together, these sections create a space that’s part professional, part personal, and always centered on growth, connection, and understanding.
